A Conceptual Framework for Understanding Public Attitudes Toward Conservation and Energy Issues

This chapter sets attitudes toward conservation and energy issues in the broader context of issue specialization and outlines an attentive public model to interpret available empirical public attitude data. The discussion focuses on several of the studies to be included in the empirical section as well as some collaborating data from a recent NSFsponsored survey of adults in the United States.
