ABSTRACT

An overview of a program of research in dynamical systems analysis being undertaken at the University of Leeds in the U.K. is presented. No attempt is made to give a detailed analysis of this work, instead, references to appropriate publications are given wherever relevant. The work program consists of two main strands of model development: Firstly, the application of dynamical systems theory to examine the evolution of urban spatial structure; and secondly, the use of microsimulation in socio-economic and public policy analysis. These are addressed in turn.
