We are living in what is called a Technological Age. It is not called that because everyone is an engineer or technologist, and certainly not because everybody understands technology. But everyone is aware that technology has become a major force in determining the nature and character of our work and play, our thoughts and dreams, our institutions and values—in brief, every aspect of our lives and our life-styles.
