ABSTRACT

As befits one of America's foremost sociologists, Daniel Bell of Harvard University, whose writings have developed the theme of a postindustrial society, found that the world of ethics and the world of technology are not separable but are inextricably intertwined. Indeed, he analyzed three "worlds"—the natural, the technical, and the social—and, in one of the major public addresses to the Wunsch conference, he emphasized the need for religion in enabling humankind to cope with present and future problems.
