ABSTRACT

The need for some kind of religious base for ethical formulations was stated by Zvi Kurzweil, professor of the philosophy of education at the Technion. While contrasting the secular and religious positions—and the intermediary position held by William fames—Dr. Kurzweil found that the "natural light" of reason "vindicates" God's commands to humankind. In this view, Kurzweil is in agreement with Jacques Maritain, the Christian Thomist scholar.
