ABSTRACT
David S. Lieberman, professor of science policy studies at the University of Oklahoma, pleaded for a broader education for engineers that would deal with the questions of values and priorities inherent in all engineering and technological decisions. While this would equip them to cope with their ethical responsibilities, Lieberman opined that unless the general "technical illiteracy' is overcome, substantial humanizing of our technology cannot be expected.
