ABSTRACT

Even though historical analogs can be found to the problems of today's world, there are admittedly some differences between contemporary problems—and possible solutions—and those of the past. Besides, merely citing past examples does not mean that today's problems will disappear. Some action will have to be taken whether the problems are unique to this age or merely magnifications of age-old problems. In this connection, the question arises regarding technology as a means or an end, and, in general, the relevance of technology to ethical questions.
