ABSTRACT

Innovative Systems Research, Inc. received a grant from the National Science Foundation in the fall of 1977 to assess the potential applications of the Electronic Information Exchange System by a multi-disciplinary community involved in the research and development of devices for the disabled. A trial network was established in January 1978 with the primary purpose of exposing members of the R&D community to the capabilities of the EIES and exploring its potential applications and impacts in the field. This paper summarizes the group's use of the system and some of the statistical data collected to date.
