ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the forms of intimacy that patient and therapist navigate, and what comes of them during long-term analyses. The author looks back over his long career, exploring some of the characteristics of long-term work and the reality that each analysis is unique, and we can’t know what the terrain will be or what the relationship will bring.
