Everyday interruptions are an inevitable part of doing research in schools. They are defined as the day-to-day happenings in schools and classrooms, both anticipated and unexpected, that cause a change in course or plan. In this chapter the author centers and tells stories about everyday interruptions encountered during school-based research as part of a design-based research project. Everyday interruptions are reframed as possibilities for bringing together important issues of theory and practice. The purpose of the chapter is to offer emerging scholars insights into how they might navigate and write about similar tensions in school-based research contexts.
