ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book provides the contextual factors that led to the study of this topic of teacher educators in the English further education (FE) sector. It presents an overview of the related books from the other education sectors and FE-related articles on teacher educators. The book focuses on the related policies and the three stages of professionalism of this community of teacher educators specific to the FE sector in England. It also provides the readers with some of the empirical evidence from the survey of the 33 teacher educators/participants. The book investigates the teacher educators' first disciplinary areas, the pathways to becoming teacher educators, and the titles of their roles. It explains the FE teacher educators' know-how, which was defined broadly to encompass knowledge, experiences, capacities, and skill sets.
