ABSTRACT

This chapter supports readers to create and implement a strategic fundraising plan ensuring effective integration with organisation-wide business planning. It also provides a host of techniques to motivate readers and others to raise funds. In an ideal world, organisational fundraising strategies would be created from a well-constructed and clear business plan. The business plan should present a clear road map for execution, providing distinct timelines for the delivery of activities and making it clear how the plan will be delivered through the organisation’s financial and human resources. A good business plan should be regularly reviewed and updated so that it feels live and relevant. Good fundraisers are creative people, and if possible, fundraisers should be involved early in the business planning process.
