ABSTRACT

The employability of university graduates has recently become a burning issue in Vietnamese media, but research-based data regarding the topic is still limited. This chapter presents a review of the issue, drawing principally from findings and perspectives reported in literature. The chapter addresses the significance of the problem, together with policies implemented by the Ministry of Education and Training in an effort to resolve it. The likely impact of these policies on graduate employability is also discussed, especially in terms of their impact on university admission, curriculum design and other learning experiences such as teaching methodologies, outcome assessment and learning environment, which might affect graduate employability in Vietnam.
