ABSTRACT

In this chapter, I first define the original concept of gore capitalism and discuss how it can help explain contemporary issues beyond explicit violence in Mexico related to the state, drug trafficking, and the gender binary. Second, I expand on the concept of fronterización [borderization] as a form of crude government that today extends beyond geopolitics, but also atrociously affirms itself through geopolitics. Finally, I reflect on fascism 2.0 as a regressive sensibility and its relation with what I have elsewhere called the live regime, or the monetization of emotions through digital platforms.
