ABSTRACT
It was nearly twenty years ago that I declared to the American public that “Gandhi is the greatest man in the world.” My countrymen did not know of Gandhi at that time—his name had scarcely found its way into our Western world! But since that time his name has become as famous as that of any other living man, and Americans know that I was right in hailing him as “the greatest.”
