It gives me very great pleasure to respond to the invitation kindly extended to me by Sir S. Radhakrishnan to send a contribution to the volume of Essays and Reflections on the life and work of Mahatma Gandhi which is to be presented to him on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of his birthday.
