ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we recount the days when Francis T. “Frank” Cullen—also known as “Dr. C.”—mentored us as graduate students at the University of Cincinnati. We first describe Dr. C.’s distinctive approach to graduate student mentorship that integrates mentoring in research, teaching, professional development, and networking. Then, we review six guiding principles that we gleaned from his mentorship when we were students that helped shape us as scholars.
