ABSTRACT

Although interest in Thomas Middleton’s plays has greatly increased in recent years, Witch has still not received the distinction of a single-volume edition. It did, however, appear in 1986 in a collection of witchcraft plays edited by Peter Corbin and Douglas Sedge, 1 but that edition is lightly annotated, and the text and apparatus are unreliable. 2 The following is offered as an extended scholarly treatment to fill a significant gap in studies of the author.
