ABSTRACT

Situation analysis refers implicitly to intrinsic value of the lived experience of the session. It underpins transference dynamic inherent to the encounter between the patient and the overall means offered by the analytic method. The meaning of episode had remained in latency, as the analysing situation requires and permits, but the fact that it was deferred did not prevent this brief episode from constituting for the patient a particularly significant moment. In the crucial moments of the analytic process, in particular each time that an incident of the frame occurs, the people can appreciate the intrinsic functionality characteristic of situation analysis, whether interpretation is brought into play or remains latent. In a sense, situation analysis is precipitate of a subjectivised utilisation of the site that permitted the structuring of an analysing situation: it is on the introjection of its own temporality and of its diachronic reference points that the analysand's confidence in the expectation of the retroactive effects of interpretation.
