It is worth recalling the famous ambiguity highlighted by Freud, which served him as inspiration for the following joke: "Analysis is terminated when the analyst and the patient cease to meet each other for the analytic session". The accent can be placed on what is at stake in the transference process between the two protagonists and on the question of separation, for it is a matter, first and foremost, of separation in the transference.
