ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses how one international school allocated time in the school day for students to engage in learning that prioritizes skill development and interdisciplinary learning within the context of current topics and areas of student interest. It includes a discussion of the design process and how school leaders empowered teachers and students to define course structure, outcomes, and assessment methods. The chapter includes examples of course titles and descriptions that the school introduced in the first year along with some of the leadership lessons learned throughout the process.
