ABSTRACT

Led by a group of people living with dementia (the Open Doors research group), this chapter outlines the week-by-week development of a participatory case study project entitled ‘Stories from a Very Different Salford’. The project took the form of an animation that was conceived and conducted by members of the Open Doors research group with other members of the group stepping in and stepping out as necessary to ensure the group’s aims and ambition were fully realised. The project was jointly funded by the Economic and Social Research Council and the National Institute for Health Research.
