ABSTRACT
This chapter defines cultural-historical activity theory and demonstrates its application to writing center research. It suggests possible writing center research questions that lend themselves to activity theory analysis. This chapter also speculates about the usefulness of activity theory as a framework for analysis in the future of writing center studies.
