ABSTRACT
This chapter first sketches the different things we might have in mind when thinking about responsibility. It then relates each of those to possible investigations of human agency. It proposes that the most interesting such relation is that between agency and what it calls “responsibility as mattering.” It offers some hypotheses about that relation.
