ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we consider the matter of boundary violations, sometimes but not always in forms of sexual assault, as they occur, are addressed or ignored, or, more rarely, handled with due process and sometimes with immediate action and sanction. We look at this process in institutes of education and in the institutions of psychoanalysis and clinical psychology. We also broaden this inquiry to think about the boundary violations that occur in the workplace, in cultural institutions in the form of sexual harassment and exploitation.
