ABSTRACT

The subject of this chapter, sexual abuse, has been one of the main topics studied by the Women and Psychoanalysis Committee (COWAP-IPA) since its very first steps. It is a well-established fact that sexual abuse is often perpetrated by relatives, boyfriends, friends or neighbors of women. Almost every minute a person may be suffering some sort of sexual violence in the world. Given such alarming data what can we as psychoanalysts do?
