ABSTRACT

This essay explores the premise that the future of Creative Writing Studies lies in partnerships formed with experts in fields outside of the discipline. The results of these collaborative explorations, once returned to creative writing in the language of the discipline, will offer fresh perspectives and insights that can expand and deepen practice and pedagogy. To facilitate this work, new modes of disseminating the findings of cross-disciplinary partnerships including digital and open access platforms must be developed. Also, new creative sub-communities with shared interest between disciplinary boundaries must be formed. The benefits of this work, however, offer paths forward for Creative Writing in an increasingly integrated world.
