ABSTRACT

On March 1, 2016, the Amber Railway Freight Corridor was signed by the transportation departments of Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia, which was then submitted to the European Commission. The Belt and Road Initiative assists European–Asian–African countries in infrastructure transformation/upgrading and boosts regional connectivity; this corridor can exactly align with the Belt and Road Initiative to dredge a European–Asian channel of trade logistics and promote common prosperity. The corridor constructs and upgrades the infrastructure in the neighbouring areas to improve the regional investment environment and promote steady development of the economy. The Belt and Road Initiative remedies Hungary’s insufficient funds for implementing the policy of “Opening up to the east” promotes improvement/development of Hungarian economic conditions and reinforces the economic/trade partnership between both countries. Both initiatives highly coincide in content and enjoy great potential cooperation/development. Strengthen economic/trade cooperation and connect the economic circle of the Asia–Pacific and Europe.
