ABSTRACT

The renewable energy is usually applied in four major areas: power generation, heating and cooling of air and water, transportation and energy services in villages, or areas away from the power grid. Renewable energy is energy from renewable resources. Developing renewable energy has become a strategic choice for global energy transformation and the realisation of climate change objectives. To mitigate the pressing issue of air pollution, reduce dependence on crude oil importation and secure national energy supply, the Chinese government actively promotes the development of renewable energy industries through fiscal subsidy and facilitating grid connection. Cooperation in renewable energy and energy efficiency is a crucial approach to pursue the Belt and Road Initiative, which is urgently needed and possesses broad development potential. The G20 Energy Efficiency Leading Programme puts forward a long-term cooperation framework that is holistic, flexible and abundant in resources for the member states to voluntarily cooperate to bolster energy efficiency.
