ABSTRACT

The Thematic Session on People-To-People Connectivity reached some consensuses, initiated the Action Plan on Belt and Road Scientific and Innovative Cooperation and signed numerous agreements and memorandums of understanding, yielding fruitful outcomes. The Thematic Session on People-to-People Connectivity effectively boosted multi-field and multi-level exchanges and cooperation between Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) participants in culture, education, science and technology, health and media. “Pragmatism” underscores universalism of people-to-people programmes, increasing the engagement and sense of fulfilment for people of BRI participating countries in different groups and social status. The heads of several international organisations and international non-governmental friendship organisations, and representatives of countries along the “Belt and Road” and overseas Chinese businesses elaborated on their views and opinions on the work of people-to-people ties under the BRI. China Central Television and the mainstream media of the relevant countries established the “Belt and Road” news cooperation alliance.
