ABSTRACT

In May 2013, the 21st African Conference of Heads of State and Government was held in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia. China keeps a close and deep long-term partnership with African countries in trade, people exchange and economy. After the proposal of the Belt and Road Initiative, Africa naturally becomes an important partner under the framework. Both sides show a strong interest in aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with the Agenda. In December 2015, the Forum on Sino-African Cooperation was held in Johannesburg, the first time it had been held in an African country after it was founded in 2000. The alignment of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Agenda is an economic cooperation on the fully equal basis. China not only highly respects the individual wishes and plans of the African countries, but also actively supports the development blueprint of African countries while observing principle of “righteousness going before benefit” and “righteousness weighing over benefit”.
