ABSTRACT

The New Silk Road Plan is a cross-development of regional economy plan initiated by the USA for Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries to integrate the resources in this area for improving its development potential as a transit area between Europe and East Asia. In May 1999, the “Silk Road Strategy Act” was passed by the USA. Due to the September 11 attacks and the USA launching the Afghanistan War, this strategic plan was then laid aside. Strengthen economic cooperation among Central Asia, Afghanistan and South Asia to promote steady development of the Afghan economy after the withdrawal of American troops and prevent a deterioration of its domestic security situation. The “Seminar on the Women’s Economy in the Central Asia and Afghanistan” and the “Seminar on the Female Entrepreneurs in the South Asia” are sponsored to support several thousands of female entrepreneurs and enterprise proprietors.
