ABSTRACT
This concluding chapter discusses the future in a general, “umbrella” manner. A framework for integrating diverse theoretical models presented throughout this book into strategic plans based on what is known about vulnerability, risk, resilience, and protective factors is presented. Implications of research into mechanisms of change is explored, along with the relevance of common elements and common factors, directed toward improving future interventions. Future directions of global and U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) research, policy, and strategic goals are presented. The chapter concludes with observations related to the book in its entirety.
