ABSTRACT
The aim of this chapter is to provide an overview of common medical procedures used in gastroenterology to aid and manage gastrointestinal (GI) conditions. Tests covered include: blood and stool tests, endoscopy, colonoscopy (plus related anaesthetics), and rectal examination, among others. The chapter also reviews the procedures through patients’ eyes, discussing possible concerns and addressing fears.
