ABSTRACT
A new national curriculum in Spain (LOGSE 1990) triggered an overhaul of the Spanish dictionaries used in the schools in Spain, with works being better adapted to their users in terms of content and linguistic resources. New dictionaries with clear pedagogical characteristics also emerged in America at around the same time.
