ABSTRACT

This chapter reports on the representation of collocations in Spanish lexicography. After a brief introduction to the notion of collocation, the chapter describes the two main lexicographic tools available to date, namely Redes (2004) and Práctico (2006), dictionaries published by SM under the direction of Ignacio Bosque. We also mention the Diccionario de colocaciones del español (DiCE), an ongoing project which seeks to create an online collocation dictionary of nouns related to the notional domain of ‘feelings’ in Spanish. Finally, the chapter explores research projects which have made innovative proposals in terms of how to deal with lexical combinatorics in dictionaries from the point of view of Computational Linguistics or dictionary making for learners.
