ABSTRACT

Leaders have to respond to rapid changes in contemporary workplaces which aim to drive the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) forward. The authors of this chapter argue that leaders need certain qualities to successfully navigate future-related work spaces. “Mindfulness,” “love,” and “creativity” are concepts and qualities that strengthen and empower leaders to take on challenges created in future-related workplaces. The chapter therefore contributes to previous research opting for leadership qualities needed in times of rapid changes, technologization, and complex challenges. This chapter further contributes to fill the void of exploring the concepts of mindfulness, love, and creativity in leadership from an in-depth perspective, giving international leaders a voice to speak out and define the worth of these qualities for their work in the 4IR.
