Responding to the thematic focus of this special issue on queer objects, five contemporary critics address one of the most popular queer books of the past five years: Maggie Nelson’s The Argonauts. Exploring the memoir’s genre-bending conventions, contributors assess Nelson’s autotheoretical exploration of the everyday intimacies of gender, sex, love, pregnancy, motherhood, and transition.
