ABSTRACT
Burns can be injuries of varying severity and in this chapter makeup artists Christine Sciortino and Christopher Payne demonstrate how to achieve them using well-researched makeup. From chemical to electrical and steam burns, they all have different ways of scarring on impact and this chapter outlines how to achieve a believable burn in any context. Starting with burns that are achieved using gelatin before moving onto those created with silicone, both makeup artists give a step-by-step tutorial in mastering burns for film and television.
