ABSTRACT
This chapter examines the national innovation system of agriculture in Pakistan. The major focus of the study is to systematically examine agriculture progress and evolution of the agriculture research and development system. It is argued in the chapter that system of agriculture innovation and extension is rather well developed but highly resource depleting. There is urgent need to make it more inclusive and sustainable so that it can affectively impact the poverty reduction. Several policy measures are suggested to improve the agriculture innovation system to make it more inclusive and sustainable in the future.
