ABSTRACT
This chapter describes the unique characteristics and challenges of energy security in the Caribbean; the recent progress in the development of national and regional ambitions, organizations and strategies; the opportunities the region has for decarbonization through the use of natural gas and renewable energy; and the major successes achieved in recent years. We conclude with the lessons learned from these experiences and suggestions for extending this positive trend.
