ABSTRACT

Chapter 7, “Understanding How to Define Your School Counseling Program Using the ASCA National Model,” provides activities for you to apply the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors in your school counseling action plan and to crosswalk identified standards within the curriculum. Furthermore, the school counselor professional competencies and standards give you an opportunity to assess your personal goals from the novice stage of the profession and throughout your career. Although Chapter 11 more thoroughly provides information on the ASCA Ethical Standards, activities to assist you in your own moral development are encompassed in this chapter, in addition to a discussion of personal values and ethical and legal standards.
