ABSTRACT

Communication and collaboration are two of the key factors that lead to the success of a project. It is vital for a project manager to communicate and collaborate effectively with all the team members and vendors who are involved in the project. This chapter describes the challenges that the project manager of Al Bukhary Inc. faced when the company was given the contract to build a three-tier data centre for Star Real Estates, which is the leading real estate company in the Middle East. The project manager had to co-ordinate with all the technical teams that were supposed to integrate to build the data centre. The entire project was delayed by 4 weeks, as the supplier, XYZ Electrics, failed to deliver the closed control unit as per the commitment that it made multiple times. This situation led to escalations within Al Bukhary Inc., Star Real Estate, and XYZ Electrics.
