ABSTRACT

This case study is about the widespread use of technology in the form of laptops, mobile phones, and tablets, which can expose to risks and have an adverse effect on firms that are involved in international business. We will focus on the management of the technology-related or rather specific vulnerabilities which are faced by managers when they make international trips related to their business dealings. This case focuses on how various skills and methods are utilised in different countries to negotiate business projects, as well as the importance of understanding the cultures of other countries in today’s globalised world. Another important factor that will be discussed relates to the importance of handling technology and how critical it is for managers to adapt to technology in this era of global connectivity. This case is related to the management of complex passwords and virtual protocol networks (VPNs). It will conclude by offering some recommendations regarding the importance of cultural diversity and how organisations that face problems during their employees’ international business travels can overcome such issues in the future.
