ABSTRACT

Urdu, considered as a language of love, affection, and unity, has deep roots that is connected to India and the people of India. Urdu television has its branches spread across the world, including Fiji and the UAE. Presently, Urdu television channels are considered as a symbol of communal harmony. ETV, which is owned by Mr Ramoji Rao, serves millions of audiences of all sections of the society across India. Aalami Samay, DD Kashir, Peace TV Urdu, Munsif TV, Zindagi, and Zee Salaam are some popular television channels in India, which successfully disseminate information and entertainment among Urdu-loving audiences. It acts as a connecting link between Urdu-loving audiences and Urdu-speaking communities. It connects distant places from Kashmir to Hyderabad. Urdu is an official language in some states like Jammu and Kashmir and Telangana and also has the status of an additional language in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. Urdu television is seen as enhancing the cultural and lingual background of audiences.
