ABSTRACT

One particular nursing problem in many countries is the ability to prepare teachers of nurses. Some authors think that the rapid integration of the world’s economy that occurred in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries is a new global reality and surely a defining issue as the people move further into the twenty-first century. For some time the concept of globalisation has been controversial. While the future may be somewhat unclear, the past gives the reader details showing that some powerful individuals and groups have exploited vulnerable people. Because globalisation, whatever form it takes, impacts so many people in so many places, and this impact will influence, if not determine, the health and well-being of most, and perhaps all, human populations on the globe, it is worthy of our serious attention. Gender has come to represent an important element in understanding poverty and the impact of globalisation.
