Although many still ask the question, “So, what is the solution?” this book has provided numerous examples of communities confronting the root causes of climate change, building grassroots alternatives and fighting against destructive climate change policies. By focusing on five critical areas of: restructuring fossil fuels and energy; education and debate; the state, labor, and the elite; food sovereignty and agriculture; and solidarity, support, and organizing, this chapter outlines pathways towards halting climate change. The chapter concludes by arguing for community-led solutions as a model for building cross-border climate justice movements.
