ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book focuses on different aspects of strategic management, organization theory and corporate governance. It analyses the need for greater coherence and harmony in the way general managers conduct the broad range of responsibilities that make up their agendas. The book describes the voices of prestigious thought leaders on the importance of moral responsibility and ethical behavior as mainstays of the management profession. Top managers must assume their unique and non-delegable role as socially responsible leaders, and business schools must assume their key responsibility in helping them assume this role. Since their foundations, IESE and its network of associated business schools in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, Portugal and Uruguay have stood apart by placing this responsibility at the top of general management agendas.
