ABSTRACT

Citizenship behaviours are important because they help create an environment in which the company can flourish. Due to its importance, there has been a large literature in the management field dedicated to understanding these behaviours, their drivers, and the outcomes that they influence. However, there has not been a systematic exploration of citizenship behaviours within the family business field. To address this gap, this chapter presents a multi-level model to help understand citizenship behaviours in family enterprises. We introduce the business family citizenship behaviour construct and outline how different levels of citizenship behaviour influence one another. We conclude by discussing future research ideas.
