ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on the level of the so-called ‘cultural complexes’, on the level of a part of the unconscious which has to do with the unconscious of a given culture and which probably does not reach as deeply as the psychic ‘layers’ which go down to the psychoid archetypes. The Jung/Pauli dialogue concerns matters which might relate to that deepest level, while this seems to belong to a more accessible part of the collective unconscious. In terms of ecological consciousness and ‘green attitudes’, Switzerland is one of the most enlightened countries on the planet, distinguishing between different types of waste and selecting the most biologically and organically friendly methods of disposing of its various waste products. The first Golem stories describe mystics, hasidim, making little clay figures who, in a mystical contact with God, were inscribing the name of God or Emeth on his forehead.
